Supervised Visitation is when a one parent has agreed to visit with their child only when supervised by another adult. This is usually in accordance with a court order or a parenting plan. The SV is utilized to keep a child safe, while supporting development of the parent–child relationship. SV can be very beneficial to the family when there have been some concerns on parenting abilities. These visitations may be conducted at a restaurant, park, library or office depending on the family situation.
