As a Guardian ad Litem, I am appointed by the court to investigate a case, report its findings and make recommendations to the court. The investigation, report, and recommendations are based upon the best interests of the child. One of the  benefits of a GAL is it can help enhance communications between  the parties, which can lead to improved decision making in co-parenting and therefore less conflict for the family.
